      Marie E. Dukes

      Marie E. Dukes, 80, of Findlay, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Findlay.
      She was born on May 2, 1929 in Orange Township, Hancock County to the late Oliver and Dora (Criblez) Nonnamaker. Marie married Ura Dean Dukes, Jr. on June 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1989.
      Marie had been employed as Secretary/Treasurer of Dukes & Son Inc., she had also been employed as a bookkeeper at the former Beltz Clothing Store, Friendly's Restaurants, and as a hostess at Bob Evans, all in Findlay.
      Surviving are three loving children, George (Kathie) Dukes, Findlay; Jean (Bob) Jeffery, Arlington, Ohio; Jane Dukes-Rettig, Findlay; a son-in-law, Steve Tong, Vanlue, Ohio; seven beloved grandchildren, Christopher Jeffery, Robert A. (Leslee) Jeffery, Brigette (John) Spoon, Tracie (Tony) Salamay, Nicolas Meyer, Jennifer (Jay) Talladay and Michelle (Gary) Haas; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Amanda and Curtis Spoon, Anne and Wesley Jeffery, Lilly and Evelyn Talladay, Grace and Tyler Haas; and a twin brother, Wm. Max Nonnamaker, Akron, Ohio.
      Preceding her in death, a daughter, Connie Sue Tong, a sister, Kathryn Merritt, and two brothers, John and Leland Nonnamaker.
      Marie was a member of Findlay Evangelical Free Church. She was a long-time Youth For Christ volunteer and was very active in Christian Women's Bible Studies.
      Marie was kind, unselfish and had a loving heart, and her grandchildren were the love of her life. As a young woman, she was an excellent basketball player and in later years enjoyed watching her granddaughters play. As a couple, she and her husband were avid square dancers.
      Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home.
      The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at the funeral home with Bob Jeffery, officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens Cemetery.
