Born in Quarryville, PA to Earl and Ruth Wiggins, he attended school in Quarryville and graduated in 1952. Earl received his BS degree from Millers-ville State Teachers College and his MS degree from the University of Southern California. In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Hess, and in 1957, he served six months of active reserve duty in the United States Army. After a thorough search and much consideration, he was convinced that the offer of a guaranteed position teaching driver training at Fillmore Union High School was the place for him. He and his bride headed west to become part of the faculty at Fillmore High School in Fillmore, CA. Thus began his illustrious career of teaching driver training in Ventura County. After seven years in Fillmore, he moved to Ventura and taught driver education and training at Buena High School from 1965 to 1980. Feeling the hand of God on his life, he left teaching and joined the staff of Ventura Missionary Church as Pastor to Children. He subsequently worked for two small businesses before returning to his love of teaching driving. He opened Wiggins Good Turns Driving School, which he operated from 1989 until he retired in 2002. He absolutely loved teaching driving and most of his students can attest to the fact that they loved him, too. He was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis shortly before his passing. As he entered his heavenly rest, his Master surely welcomed him with open arms. Mr. Wiggins is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis; a brother, Howard; his six children: Phylene, Earla Griggs, Robert, Matthew, Joel, and Heather Reeves. He leaves 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.--
